Join our team! The Museum is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Facility Coordinator. This position oversees and coordinates the repairs, servicing, scheduling, and cleaning of the Museum's facilities, as well as overseeing security and ensuring overall operations continue to meet American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited industry standards.

Museum Grounds Crew

Do you love gardening, working outdoors, and making your community a more beautiful place?  Join our Museum Grounds Crew!  Members meet at the Museum on every 2nd Saturday of the month to clean up the Museum grounds including Fassnight Creek, maintain flowerbeds, and enjoy nature and each other’s company.  We welcome experienced gardeners and naturalists as well as newbies looking to learn.  For a full description and to apply, click on the following link: Museum Grounds Crew

Education Event Volunteer

As we expand our educational programs, we are seeking volunteers to help us with large education events like Opening Days, Trick-Art-Treat, Home School Days, and more.  Volunteers take part in these fun, family-friendly events by helping with set-up, running activity stations, and other needs during each event.  If you like working with the public including kids of all ages, this may be the opportunity for you.  For a full description and to apply, click on the following link: Education Event Volunteer

Volunteer Museum Greeter

We are looking for “people people” to help visitors at the Museum’s front desk.  If you are interested in getting to know your community and Museum while helping our diverse visitors, this could be a great opportunity for you.  Volunteer Museum Greeters welcome and assist visitors, answer phones, and help Museum staff with a variety of needs.  Must be customer focused and excited to work with diverse audiences to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.  For a full description and to apply, click on the following link: Volunteer Museum Greeter

Become a Museum Docent

Museum docents are ambassadors for the Museum and lead interactive tours for children and adults. Docents volunteer as needed according to the tour schedule.  Docents must complete a formal training program and make a 1-year commitment to the tour program. We are looking for curious individuals who are interested in learning about and exploring art with other people!  For more information visit our Docent Page.

Art Museum Board

Appointed by the City Manager, the Art Museum Board oversees the operations of the Art Museum.  The Art Museum Board meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Springfield Art Museum.  To serve on the Art Museum Board you must have lived within Springfield City Limits for the last 2 years.  To learn more and apply for Board membership, visit the following page: https://www.springfieldmo.gov/738/Art-Museum-Board/
