    Every March, the Springfield Art Museum invites student artists from across our community, in kindergarten through twelfth grades, to exhibit outstanding artwork in the All School Exhibition. A celebration of Youth Art Month, this highly anticipated show has been a staple of our exhibition schedule for many decades.

  2. Art In Bloom Public Hours

    The Springfield Art Museum and Art Mosaic One invite you to Art In Bloom 2018, our newest signature event celebrating fine art and fantastic floral displays. This three day festival invites floral designers from throughout the region to imaginatively interpret works of art on view in the Museum's galleries and presents them alongside those works for your enrapt enjoyment. Art In Bloom includes prize categories for featured florists, and several ticketed events including an incredible opening night soiree with a nature-inspired runway show, floral arranging workshops, and mixed media painting activities. However, during our public hours of operation you do not need a ticket or admission fee to view the floral arrangements and the corresponding artworks. We hope you will join us for this one of a kind event inspired by spring!

  3. Art in Our City: Zone 2

    Springfield, Missouri is home to a vibrant artistic community. This exhibition highlights and celebrates the creativity of our community focusing on artists living and working in the many neighborhoods that make up our city. This exhibition not only concentrates on the artists on display but also their neighborhoods and what it means to live and work creatively in Springfield. The exhibit will rotate every six months; the second exhibition features work by nine artists from four neighborhoods located in City Council Zone 2 and will run through October 14, 2018.

  4. Frolic of the Mind: The Illustrious Life of Rose O'Neill

    April 28, 2018, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Eldredge, Spratlen, and Armstrong Galleries

    This exhibition will trace Rose O'Neill's work in all media and will feature 150 works from a number of public and private collections including the Springfield Art Museum, the Huntington Library and Art Museum, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Bonniebrook Home and Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others. The exhibit will include illustrations, rarely seen paintings, drawings, archival documents, personal effects, and smaller sculpture. A fully illustrated catalog will bring new research to the topic, featuring several guest essays. Curated by Sarah Buhr, Curator of Art at the Springfield Art Museum.

  5. Art In Bloom Floral Arranging Workshop

    Join Kim Hardin from Mears Floral Products, Inc. for a flower arranging workshop inspired by Art In Bloom 2018, our newest signature event celebrating fine art and fantastic floral displays. $40 workshop tickets go on sale March 1 and include complimentary beverage, small bites, and all materials (courtesy of Mears Floral Products, Inc). This the perfect event for grandmothers, mother, and daughters, a social gathering, or anyone interested in the art of floral arrangement. Proceeds from Art In Bloom events benefit the Museum's Art Acquisition Fund. We hope you will join us for this one of a kind event inspired by spring!
